AirSage is led by a seasoned management team with extensive experience in a blend of Fortune 500 companies and successful start-ups, including BellSouth, Advance Technology Corporation, Synacom, Cisco, iMedeon, Netuitive, TRW, and General Dynamics.

Cy Smith
Founder, President & CEO
Cy Smith is an experienced CEO and entrepreneur with over 25 years of experience in the telecommunications industry. Prior to the launch of AirSage in 2000, Cy was Founder, President and CEO of Advance Technology Corporation (ATC), a pioneer and leader in Geographical Information Systems (GIS) and Global Positioning System (GPS)-based solutions for wireless and wireline telecommunications companies. Cy began his career with BellSouth Corporation, holding positions in network engineering, quality assurance and management.

Cy is a graduate of Georgia Institute of Technology, where he earned a bachelor’s degree in Industrial and Systems Engineering (ISyE). He has been recognized as one of Georgia Tech’s “Outstanding Young Engineers” by the Georgia Tech Alumni Association and has received awards from the American Electronics Association for leadership and innovation in technology.

Tom Bouwer
Vice President, Sales & Marketing
Tom has over 18 years of domestic and international sales and marketing experience in both the public and private sectors. Prior to joining AirSage, Tom served as Chief Sales and Marketing Officer for ASA Global Telekomüniksyon Inc. in Turkey. In addition, he has worked with governments in both the U.S. and the Middle East, including assisting the State of Qatar in the development of its Supreme Council of Information & Communications Technology. Tom's additional experience includes work with AIG as Vice President - Sales and Marketing, and with consultants Deloitte & Touch and Booz Allen Hamilton. Tom holds an MBA from the Fuqua School of Business at Duke University and earned a B.A. in Business Administration from Hope College in Holland, MI.

Vince Zappa
Vice President, Carrier Operations
Vince has 13 years of experience in the consumer internet, wireless, and enterprise software industries with a strong emphasis on start-ups and new business creation. He has extensive experience in product management, business development, and strategy. Prior to AirSage, Vince was the Vice President of Converged Services at TMNG, a global telecommunications and media strategy consulting firm. Previous to TMNG, Vince held management positions in product management, product development, and strategy at early-stage companies including Helio, EarthLink, Trilogy Software, and MindSpring. He received his MBA from The Fuqua School of Business at Duke University and his Bachelor of Science in Computer Science from Georgia State University.
